why are pilots more likely to be paid than bus drivers
Answers
Answer:
They are just trying to get their foot in the door of an industry where the top senior pilots of major airlines are paid handsomely. Many new pilots will endure pay at poverty levels and nearly non-existent work rules just to build flight hours and experience.
Of course these young pilots wanting to build time and experience are easily exploited by penny-pinching small commuter airlines that know these pilots don’t dare object, complain or quit. Doing this will likely also jeopardize a move up to another airline for them. Thus these pilots will continue to be exploited in pay and otherwise, until years later being hired by a better airline. It is almost of form of being, indentured servants.
It is the industry’s dirty little secret. I was lucky going straight from flying with the military to flying for major airline. Most pilots are not so fortunate. I think it is just terrible how this works for those just starting out as pilots.
