: It is much easier to work the land if it’s flat… and preferably fertile.Construction: It is much easier to build housing and roads on a flat surface, as opposed to mountains or valleys.Transportation: Finally, it is much easier to move things on a flat surface. If we assume that a specific area is completely plain, vehicles will consume a lot less energy whilst moving forward.

The northern plains are densely populated because they consist of large plains of alluvial soil and the deposition of alluvium in a vast basin lying at the foothill of the Himalayas over million of years make this plane fertile.
it spreads over an area of 7 lakh Square kilometres,is 2400kilometers long,240 to 320 kilometres broad and are flat land which make staying simple for the people.
They are made up of three major rivers system named
The indus, the Ganga and the Brahmaputra along with their tributaries. this help in increasing the agricultural produces.
