Plants take the 'Carbon dioxide' from the environment and release Oxygen.

Explanation:

A process in which 'light energy' is converted into 'chemical energy' to produce food is called photosynthesis.  Plants perform photosynthesis during which it takes the energy from sunlight to make their food.

They convert carbon dioxide and sunlight into glucose. The glucose is further converted into 'pyruvate' and 'Oxygen' is released as bi-product. That’s why they are known as natural air purifiers.
