Why are porcelain objects wrapped in a paper or straw before packing for transportation ?

Porcelain objects are wrapped in paper because it reduces the chance of damage or to reduce the Breakage , during transportation as during transportation sudden brakes or even fall can take place , the force takes longer time to reach porcelain objects through paper because paper and straws are fluffy material .
