Why are potassium dichromate and potassium permanganate coloured?

Permanganate is a compound of the transition netal Manganese. Dichromate is the compound of the transition metal Chromium. As you know transition metal compounds are all coloured. That is why Potassium Permanganate and Potassium Dichromate are soloured.
