producers are all those organisms which are capable to produce their own food it can be a green plant or there are other coloured plants to which can produce their own food for example which have some other colour of pigments . there are five types of pigments ABCD which gives different or definite colours to the plants .as the chlorophyll pigment is the most found treatment so it is said that green plants are called producers though there are other plants which are not Green but are also called producers .

ALL those organisms which can synthesise their own food are called producers .

They do this by using light energy from the Sun, carbon dioxide from the air and water from the soil to produce food - in the form of glucouse/sugar. The process is called photosynthesis.
