Why are pulses alternated with crops like wheat or paddy
Answers
Hey there!
Pulses come from leguminous plants. Leguminous plants have the ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen and convert them into nitrates which is very beneficial for the soil.
After a season of wheat or paddy, the soil gets exhausted and loses its nutrients. So a leguminous crop is grown to replenish the soil with its nutrients.
Hope helped. :)
because pulses require less water and they also fixes nitrogen in the soil to give enough nutrients to the crops like wheat or paddy... wheat or paddy absorbs the nutrients that are fixed by pulses and give high yield to the farmers. pulses also improves fertility of soil... that's Why pulses alternated with crops like wheat or paddy ...
