All form of pollution involve health risks. The dangers of radioactive pollution relative to other forms of pollution depends on the concentration, location, how long it is in the body, etc. All forms of pollution involve difficulty in cleaning them from the environment. Radioactive pollution is no different.

BTW, the claim that radioactive pollution can kill immediately but other forms of pollution do not, is absurd. It all depends on the concentration. At least 2200 people died immediately due to a gas leak at Bhopal. The ultimate death toll is probably in excess of 20,000. No leak of radioactive pollution in history came near to that.

there are various effects of radioactive pollutants
the biological effect is of three types
1.short term recoverable effects,like diarrhea,sore throat,loss of hair,nausea
2.long term irrecoverable effects like leukemia and cancer
3.genetic diseases
the first two effects are limited to the individual who are actually exposed to the pollutants ,while the third effect appears in later generations of person whee the genes i his cell get modified due to exposure to such radiations.
