why are range of Shivalik prone to earthquake

The Shivalik Range is prone to earthquakes because it is located on the boundary of Eurasian plate and Indo-Australian plate.  Whenever the pressure inside the earth increases, the collision is enormous and sometimes it is released in the form of earthquake.
