Why are ribosomes more in hormone producing cells than skin cells?

I believe that you more than likely would expect to see more ribosomes in a hormone-producing cell. Ribosomes are organelles on which protein synthesis occurs, and many of these synthesized proteins function as hormones. An example is the hormone insulin, which is secreted in response to elevated blood sugar levels. I hope this helps!

Hormone producing cells need toproduce many products, such as proteins. It's function is to protect, not as much as to produce proteins to help other cells etc. The most outer layer of skin is dead, so there's not much use in there being ribosomes toproduce proteins.

Hope it helps... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
