RIVERS ARE MAIN SOURCE OF FRESH WATER OCENAIC WATER IS SALTY SO ITS NOT IN USE BUT RIVER WATER IS PURE ,,SAFE FOR DRINKING BUT OCEANIC WATER REQUIRES FILTRATION WHICH IS VERY COSTLY TO DO SO HWNCE RIVER WATER IS OUR LIFELINE

river were having the basic element of life that is water.humans can not live without water as they require water for drinking, washing clothes, utensils, taking bath, cleaning few materials, for cattles,to grow crops, etc.so water was a basic need for living as their lives were dependent on water which were provided by river so earlier people used to worship river and concidered river as godess.yhus river is concidered as lifeline of human civilisation

eg.

MOHENJODARO and INDUS VALLEY CIVILISATION were most popular river based civilisation in history
