Why are road accidents at high speeds very much worse than the road accidents at low speed?

as their speed is high their momentum is too high.
when they collapse at high speed leading to worse accident

When at high speeds the momentum is high and when vehicle/s collide at high speed their momentum is transfered to which they collide causing more damage and making the accident worse
