*Salt is formed as a result of neutralisation reaction ( neutralisation reaction is a chemical reaction in which acids and bases cancel the effect of each)

*On the basis of chemical composition ( acids and bases), it is classified into:

*Acidic Salts (here, acids dominate bases , that is, acids cancel the effect of bases significantly or acids are present in abundance);

*Basic Salts (bases dominate acids or bases are present in abundance);

*Neutral salts (in this, both acids and bases are dominating ,or salt , formed in this case, is in neutral state)
