why are shock absorbers used in motor cycles and cars? ​

Shock absorbers are 'dampers' i.e. they reduce oscillation over time using friction(mostly). ... A car or bike in motion will continue to hit more and more bumps before the oscillation in the suspension from the previous bumps have stopped.
