SMOOTH MUSCLES :

》Smooth muscles are called unstriated muscles because when they are seen under microscope they do not show dark or light bands.

》They appear smooth under microscope.

》Smooth muscles are fusiform in shape.

》They help in a process called peristalsis.

》They are also known as visceral organs since they line the visceral organs.

》Smooth Muscle is a type of Muscular Tissue.

》Examples : Iris of eye, oesophagus, stomach, etc.
