Kharif crops are the crops cultivated in summer season which lasts from June to October depending on the area.
The Kharif crops include :
rice, maize, sorghum, bajra, ragi (cereals), soyabean, groundnut (oil seeds) , cotton etc.

Rabi crops are the crops sown in winter and harvested in the spring in South Asia
The Rabi crops include :
wheat, barley, oats (cereals), gram (pulses), mustard (oil seeds ) etc.

Therefore, we grow Kharif crops in North because the climatic conditions is cold and Rabi crops in South because the climatic conditions is little hot .
