Some flames are blue because they have enough oxygen to burn completely. this is called complete combustion.
Some flames are yellow because they don't have sufficient amount of oxygen during combustion, this is called incomplete combustion.

hi. the flames differ because of amount of oxygen present in air. the hottest part of flame is blue in colour and there is enough oxygen. the middle zone is yellow in colour and it emits the most light.
