some hydrocarbons are saturated because they have all single bonds and the hydrocarbons which has double or triple Bond are known as unsaturated hydrocarbons

SATURATED HYDROCARBONS ARE THOSE WHICH HAVE OR MAKE JUST SINGLE BOND BETWEEN THE CARBON ATOMS . THESE TYPE OF HYDROCARBONS ARE ALSO CALLED ALKANES .

UNSATURATED HYDROCARBONS ARE THOSE WHICH HAVE OR MAKE DOUBLE OR TRIPLE BONDS BETWEEN THE CARBON ATOMS THESE ARE ALSO KNOWN AS ALKENES AND ALKYNES .

OUT OF THESE TWO UNSATURATED HYDROCARBONS ARE MORE REACTIVE THAN SATURATED HYDROCARBONS AS UNSATURATED HYDROCARBONS ARE WEAKER THUS THEY ARE EASIER TO BREAK AND HENCE REACT FASTER .
