Explanation:

I respect all the view and ideas of people answering this question before, but according to my knowledge and facts collected by me Indian language system is mainly divided in two categories the gaudha or Northern and the dravida or the southern. To be very clear both the language categories mentioned above aren't much different from each other. Both sanckrit and Tamil borrow words and grammar from each other because of sharing comman proto Indian linguistic origin.

They aren't much different as we think. They are many languages more than 500 in Bharata of which few become richer with literature. All these languages were Prakritik (meaning natural). From sounds of different feelings and ideas give result to these languages. Languages converged to a point called Sanskritha (well arranged) and not diverged from one to many as we think today. Yes, not just north Bharateeya to South Bharateeya but among them these languages are different and their difference varies according to geography and other reasons. Sanskritha is a language where languages have reached a common point in Bharata. If you see you might find some differences in languages among north bharateeya and between south Bharateeya languages. For Example Kannada people can not completely understand Telugu and vice versa. But they both got certain words that they both understand which we see in Sanskritha. So, If people of Bharata start to learn Sanskritha this land would be much better place.
