why are substance found in the solid state some in the liquid state and others in the gaseous state​

the state of any substance depends upon its intermolecular forces.the intermolecular forces are strongest in solids then in liquids and they are least in gaseous state.Thus due to the variations of these forces the exist as solid liquid or gaseous depending upon the forces between them

this depend upon its properties of a particular substance if it melting point is high it rapidly starts changing in low temperature like sodium and some have high melting point like iron .ok and when they get enough kinetic energy they break the boundary of surface.
