First of all, what are dams? A dam is a structure used to hold back and contain large amounts of water, from a river, in a reservoir to be used for irrigation and other domestic uses.
Dams also help in the prevention of floods and provide electricity through hydro-power. With dams, water can be easily collected during heavy rainfall and utilized in our daily lives.
