The effect of westerlies if felt to a greater extent in Europe than in America because of the Shifting of Pressure belts due to Coriolis effect...
The shifting of pressure belts is caused due to the rotation and the revolution of earth whereas under the Coriolis effect the winds are deflected to the right and in northern hemisphere and to left in southern hemisphere
