Why are the elements of heating devices like bread toasters made ofan alloy rather than a pure metals?

One of the reason that why alloy are used for making heating element is that :

It has very high melting point it means at very high temperature it does not start melting.

Secand reason is that an alloy is a good conductor of heat and light .
