its because.......kerala's a coastal area with soo many rivers and backrivers..........due to so much water present fishing flourishes......these rivers make the land fertile..........coconut trees grow more in fertiled land......as so much fertiled land is there so many trees grow....and as soo many coconut trees are there,we get so much coir......due to this coir industries are flourishing.

Kerala being a coastal area , people's main occupation is fishing.Having a large coastline , backwaters and freshwaters , the state has a striving fishing industry. At the same time, coir industry is also a flourishing industry there , as coir is made from coconut husk and the state is endowed with coconut trees in abundance , being coastal region.
The coir yarn thus constitutes a major part of the economy.
