Answer:they are packed in such packaging material so they do not break on impact

Explanation:straw ,styr foam,bubble wrap, these things give slow change in velocity.when you pack something of glass in bubble wrap or foam then even if you put it down a bit too harsh it will not break as the glass article will sink in a bit and therefore,the velocity will change slowly and when the velocity changes slowly there is less pressure .without the wrapping if you put it down a bit too harsh it will probably break.
