Why are the group 1 elements more electropositive  than group 2?​

Alkaline earth metals are less electropositive because of the smaller size and higher ionisation enthalpies of alkaline earth metalsas compared to alkali metals ...Cesium this is because as the size of the mtal increases ,the strength of metallic bonding decreases and hence its metling point decreases.
