Why are the high Himalayan slopes always covered with ice?

As you go above sea level or increase altitude or elevate, the temperature starts decreasing. Altitude of Himalyan peaks varies from 300 meters to mount everest. Altitudes above 4000 meters are very cold and it snows more than rain. Thus more snow and low temperatures make sure the himalya stays snow covered.

In himalayas average height of mountains is 6 kms . So you get snow throughout year . And when earth's tilt toward Sun is opposite sun rays reaches this region in slanted pattern . So weather intensifies resulting into winter and complete snow cap in region
