Isotopes means the types of same element having the same atomic number but different atomic mass. Now, if the atomic number is same, the number of electrons and protons will be the same. They decide the chemical nature of an element not the number of neutrons. So, isotopes are chemically alike but physically different due to different atomic number.

Explanation:

Isotopes are the species which have same atomic mass but different mass number.

Atomic mass means number of protons present in an atom. Also, in a neutral atom the number of protons equal the number of electrons.

And the number of electrons present in valence shell determine the property of an atom or group of atoms. Hence, it makes isotopes of hydrogen chemically alike.
