why are the longitudes equal in length? Please do fast.

  1. Longitudes are imaginary lines that run vertically around the earth and meet at North and South poles.
  2. They are equal in length because they all extend from North pole to South pole.  
  3. The length of each longitude is equal to half of the the circumference of earth.  They are used to define East- West position of a country or place.
  4. Half of the longitudinal circle is called Meridian.
  5. Prime meridian is also a longitude and it passes through Greenwich, England. It is called 0 degrees longitude, it is the international date line.
