These help in defending the independence and the national unity of a country.   (ii) International trade has undergone major changes during the last 15 years. Exchange of commodities and goods is being augmented and superseded by exchange of information and knowledge. India has emerged as a software giant at the international level and is earning a large amount of foreign exchange through the export of information technology products.
