Answer:

Museums are important because in history we study about past and Museum is a place where we can see all the the antique things like any antic portrait, weapons ,old ports and many other things.and we all know by seeing something we can remember it quickly but just remembering something I mean to say any chapter in history you will forget very easily but if we will see those things in a museum we can have a better understanding. Secondly, it also gives an opportunity to understand to see all the things which we have studied in history which would affect the understanding of man in how we got independence or how early humans lived or about the various kings and Queens ,what was their lifestyle , about the drainage system which types of coins were used or how can war Like world war can arise even now or by seeing destruction of Nalanda University and so on. so we can understand what had happened in past and we can relate them with present so this only is the aim of history. Studying history doesn't mean that we need to learn everything and we need to write it somewhere Like in our exam and then we can forget . It requires a better understanding about culture, government, etc in which museums can play a better role.

Hope this will help you; it's not in bookish language,I wanted to explain you. so If small answer is required you may cut off few points.
