why are the peaks of Mountain the origin of many rivers in the world ? what you makes them carry a good amount of a water throughout the year?

The mountains are lofty means having high altitude. So as the atmosphere becomes cooler as we reach on height. There the atmosphere on mountains are cool and therefore they get snow instead of rains. These snow get piled on the mountains and when temperature goes bit high the snow melts and form water and that water flow down from the mountains. Large amounts of melting brings large amounts of water and therefore the rivers starts from mountains
