why are the plains of north india very fertile

because of alluvial soil which comes through various rivers such as Ganga Yamuna and many others from the Himalayas it makes northern plains highly fertile

Most of the indian rivers originates from the Himalayas and surrounding areas.we can see most of the places in the northern india are more fertile. while these rivers coming from their originated areas to the destination places they takes clay,fertile soil and some sediments alon with the water. that soil makes the northern places in india are more fertile
