Assuming u meant regional parties.
- The presence of a number of ethnic, cultural, linguistic, religious and other groups within society is greatly responsible for the origin and growth of regional parties.
- Regional parties focus on representing their specific community and therefore naturally garner votes from their specific communities hence gaining seats.
- When regional parties take part in law making, their views are not generalized like the national parties, but are instead based on the needs and aspirations of their specific region due to which they work better in that specific region as compared to national parties.
- In a federal government, at the central government, when the seats are distributed between the regional parties, the aspirations of all communities within the federation are heard better. This is because of the fact that when a national party has seats at the central level, they do not represent any one community and instead focus on having a loose connect with all communities which might not be as effective.
