actually, we can get any natural number by sum of these given numbers 1, 2 , 2 , 5 , 10 , 20, 20, 50 , 100, 200, 200, 500,1000, 2000, 2000, 5000, ..... etc

Let's try , write 2356 , with given numbers .
take 2000, 200, 100, 50, 1 , 5 and add it
2000 + 200 + 100 + 50 + 5 + 1 = 2356

now,you can understand the logic , why are the resistance used in a resistance box like 1, 2 , 2 , 5 , 10 , 20, 20, 50 , 100, 200, 200, 500,1000, 2000, 2000, 5000, ..... etc .

we use these all values of resistance because we can easily got any integer or natural value of resistance .

This is such an interesting question.

As the unit of resistance is ohm. So by this sequence, the natural numbers up to 10000 ohms can get easily. Natural resistance values can be found out due to this sequence. This arrangement gives the value of our own choice due to which we make simple value resistance box.

Hope this will prove helpful for you.
