◆ Rivers are considered to be the lifeline of human civilisation because they are the perennial sources of water. Main or sub-adjoined rivers both have different significances. The places located near or far from (not very far) rivers will get the supply of water. Even, river provides water for agriculture (i.e., cultivation of crops).

Rivers are the main source of water. At that time, people were mainly dependent upon agriculture and water was very necessary for it. Also rivers provided fresh water for drinking and for carrying other life processes.
