Rivers are considered a lifeline of civilization because , a river provide all the requirements of day to day life of a civilization people they can transport there goods they can fetch water their can go fishing for food source etc.

The river banks have attracted settlers from ancient times. These settlements have also become big cities. that is why rivers are considered the life lines of human civilisation. It is called the life line of human civilization because it has always been an important source for humans.
