The arid valley landscape contrasts with irrigated fields in Owens Valley, in eastern California. Owens Valley, nicknamed "Land of Little Rain," relies on water from the snows of the nearby Sierra Nevada, which flowed into Owens Lake. However, in the early 20th century, much of this water was redirected to the city of Los Angeles.

3.Irrigation Canals, Vietnam

Phung Hiep is part of the Mekong Delta region in Vietnam. Rivers and rainfall provide abundant water for crops such as rice, sugar cane, vegetables, and tropical fruit. Farmers have created irrigation canals to control the amount and distribution of water.
