Shivaliks ranges are composed of unconsolidated sediments and contain gravel and Aluminium so, they are weak in nature. They lie on the boundary of convergence of eurasian and indo-auatralian plate so they are prone to landslides.

Answer:

Shivalik is the lowermost range of the Himalayas. It is made up of unconsolidated sediments and is found near river valleys which erodes the soil and hence prone to landslides. These sediments, are more susceptible for downslope movement under the force of gravity in rainy season.
