Why are the skeleton muscles known as stated muscles

Because it has striation of dark and light band of myosin and actin respectively....

Skeletal muscles are called striated muscles because when we observed this skeletal muscles under microscope they have a striped like appearance and they also show alternate dark and lightbstriations or bands
