Why are the small number of surviving tigers a cause of worry from the point of view of genetics...?

Ans.... As tigers have become a cause of worry from the point of view of genetics because continuation killing of tigers may lead to its extinction and it will disturb the nature's cycle

Why is the small number if surviving tigers a cause of worry from the point of view of genetics?

Small populations are at risk of extinction because:

  1. Lesser opportunity of finding the mate.
  2. Interbreeding that leads to interbreeding depression & degeneration.
  3. Increased threat to Survival because of habitat destruction & environmental changes.
  4. Fewer recombinations & less variability & hence lesser adaptability to changing environment
