Why are the temperate forests are found between 1500-3000 meters mostly in southern slopes of himalayas?

Temperate forest are found between 1500-3000 meters mostly in southern slopes of Himalayas because the southern slope of Himalayas receives direct sun's rays as compared to northern slopes of Himalayas which receives sun's rays at an very low angle .
