Public movement on beaches cause turtle eggs to be disturbed and crushed. It disturbs the movement of turtles when they come to lay eggs. When a beach known to be a turtle nesting sight is sealed to the public, it allows the turtles free movement to the beach, for laying eggs.
Female turtles, especially the Olive Ridley turtles, go to the same beach from where they were hatched, to lay eggs. So, in the interest of conservation, those beaches need to be closed to public during the nesting season.
