Both boys are so innocent... They help the narrator for many things like buying tickets for opera. they also caring for her sister...

They are called so because they exhibit all the characteristics of gentlemanliness. Instead of working hard they could have chosen stealing and other malpractices but they chose to be a true gentleman.Also they care for their sister more than their own selves. They work with true passion.
