why are the walls of ventricle thicker than atria ?

Ventricle have thicker as they have to bear more shock.. The blood from ventricles has to be transported out of heart so more pressure is applied on them...

It is because ventricle have to pump blood to the whole body due to which it has thicker walls then auricles
