because at such a height there is high atmospheric pressure. so, to prevent from it. or to prevent oxygen from coming out of aeroplane. hope it would help you

The windows of an aeroplane are kept close as there is high atmospheric pressure at that height. Hence to prevent the pressure acting on us and to prevent the oxygen from going out the windows are kept closed.
