note that continental plates are still floating on the mantle this is due to the converge of the continents which causes the rock strata to make folds which become mountains for eg the mighty Himalayas

Young fold mountains are the mountains that keeps growing from time to time, young fold mountains are found around the sea bed mostly and as it grows there’s a movement of tectonic plates among the core of the earth.
It is the reason the mountains grow and which is also the reason volcanoes are mostly found in the region of the young fold mountains and being around the sea the movements of the tectonic plates cause earthquakes in the sea and might end up in a tsunami.
