Why are there few volcanoes in the Himalaya?

The reason why there are fewer volcanoes at this fault than at other faults, such as along the west coast of the Americas, is that in the Himalayas we have a continent to continent collision with no ocean. As the oceanic plates subduct, as in west coast Americas, they take down water with them.
