More H+ ions are there in HCl bcoz.. We know HCl is strong acid.... And a strong or weak acid is identified as the no.. of H+ ions present..

Apeters: 2nd question is wrong... bcoz.. if a substance is basic it would have OH- ions

it is because hcl is an stong acid hence when it is mixed with water it produces more h+ions but whereas acetic acid is weak acid it also produces h+ions but it produce less ions than compare to hcl. similarly as naoh is strong base it produces more oh-ions in presence of water than ammonium hydroxide when it is mixed with water

lalitha2004: the 2nd qstn is wrong it is oh- ions not h+
