why are there more herbivores than carnivores

so there would be balance because if carnivores no. increased than herbivores would be extinct so herbivores are more in no.

simple answer-
 
if there would have more carnivores,the number of herbivores would decrease or they may get extinct creating an imbalance.so in order to maintain the balance,there is more no of herbivores so that carnivores won't run out from their food and herbivores don't get extinct,maintaining proper balance.
